Havard’s Century Plant (2025)
A vulnerable species of the Chihuahuan Desert of Texas and Mexico, Havard’s Century Plant, also known as the Chisos Agave, surprisingly does not bloom once a century. Instead, a stalk, often reaching twenty feet tall, reaches for the sky when the plant reaches maturity, about 25-40 years of age. The magnificent clusters of flowers are pollinated by a wide variety of bats, birds, and insects for the duration of the spring and summer.
