Feral Donkey* (2026)
Few animals characterize the American Southwest quite as well as the feral donkey, or the burro. Unfortunately, this lovable (though often stubborn) equid is quite invasive and harmful to the desert ecosystems it calls home. Many have worked tirelessly to place feral donkeys in working ranches and communities where they can be fed without competing with native species.
The original now belongs in a private collection.
*The feral donkey does not belong to the native wildlife of North America. It is placed in this collection due to its status as an iconic feral animal spotted throughout the southwest.
